How does backup and restore work?

iPlum is a business service with security and privacy.

With default privacy settings your data (texts, business contacts or fax) are not stored at iPlum. You can only start archiving them by using the security and backup plan. The backup will “start from the date” you enroll in the plan. It will not restore previous texts or contacts or fax because they are not archived.

What is the cost for security and backup plans?

Security and backup plan is required for any of these options: secure text channels, business contacts, portal texting, portal contacts, text to email, fax archive, HIPAA compliance etc. There are three (3) types of backup plans:

  • Security & backup enhanced for phone line call/text ($5.99/mo paid annually or $6.99/mo paid monthly).
    Includes: Security and backup for business contacts, text for phone line; unlimited secure text channels; text to email. It is mandatory for HIPAA compliance on a phone line.

  • Security & backup for fax ($3.17/mo paid annually or $3.99/mo paid monthly).
    Includes: Security and backup for fax line. It is mandatory for HIPAA compliance on a fax line.
  • Mobile communication compliance plan for financial & legal sectors ($9.99/mo paid monthly).
    Includes: Security and backup for business calls, contacts, text; unlimited secure text channels; text to email, call recording. It works for financial, legal, sales and support compliance on a mobile line.

What is the backup retention policy?

The backup is activated after the user subscribes for the plan.

Security & backup basic or enhanced plan , the text are archived for last six (6) months on rolling basis. You can download texts online in password protected iPlum portal. For longer duration, the users are advised to download and backup texts using iPlum portal usage reporting section.
You can retrieve last sixty days (60) text messages in iPlum app using Restore feature in iPlum Settings. Business contacts are backed up in iPlum app.

Mobile communication compliance plan, the text and call recordings are archived for multiple years. You can retrieve last five years (5) texts and call recordings online in password protected iPlum portal. The users are also advised to download and backup texts and recordings using iPlum portal usage reporting section.
You can retrieve last sixty days (60) text messages in iPlum app using Restore feature in iPlum Settings. Business contacts are backed up in iPlum app.

Important: If you disable backup settings for a user, or the backup plan is cancelled or the line is cancelled or the line is ported out, the new backup will stop and all previous backup data is permanently erased due to user security and privacy.

I have a 2019 version of text archive plan. How can I update to new backup plan?

The previous plan allowed text archive online but no text restore in the app. The new backup plan allows both archive and restore in the iPlum app. The messages will continue to be available in the iPlum portal with either old or new plan.

Update to new backup plan online:

  1. Login to iPlum portal https://my.iplum.com
  2. Dashboard || Users || Click iPlum Login ID of the User || Plans || Security & backup enhanced plan
